Dear Monkey: E-mail
the Monkey with
your coffee question!
How
do I make the best cup of coffee?
There are
three steps you can take to ensure a better cup of coffee.
1.
Buy your coffee often. This will ensure you have the freshest
coffee.
2. Grind your coffee fresh before brewing each pot.
The coffee bean insulates all of the oils and flavor components.
Once it is ground, the flavor begins to dissipate. Grinding
it fresh guarantees the best cup possible.
3. Last, but certainly
not least, store your coffee in an airtight container. DO NOT
FREEZE YOUR COFFEE! It breaks down it’s molecular structure
and absorbs the various aromas in your freezer. A good rule
of thumb is treat your coffee as if it was a fine red wine.
Keep it in a cool, dry, dark place for best results.
Please remember to measure your coffee carefully! We recommend
two level tablespoons of ground coffee (about two heaping
tablespoons of beans before grinding) for every six ounces
of water.
